Lolle Nauta
Lolle Nauta (1929-2006) was born in Sneek, The Netherlands and studied theology in Basel, Germany. But it was philosophy that interested him most. From 1967 until he was accorded the emeritus status in 1994, he was professor of Philosophy of Science and Social Philosophy in the University of Groningen, The Netherlands. From 1979 until 1982 he lived and worked in Lusaka, Zambia in which period he established an institute of philosophy at the University of Zambia. In the Netherlands Lolle Nauta was well known for his social commitment.
